Sub-Saharan Africa Overview

ALPLA entered the Southern African market in 2014 when it opened a production facility in Kempton Park. The African continent is an attractive growth market, which is why in 2017, ALPLA acquired Boxmore Packaging to increase its footprint in Southern Africa. With Boxmore Packaging, ALPLA acquired a leader in PET preforms, bottles and closures. In 2020 ALPLA invested in a state-of-the-art plant in Lanseria starting to merge five previous locations in South Africa under one roof. The production at the new plant started in 2022. ALPLA currently operates in 7 locations in Sub-Saharan Africa and employs around 700 people.

In this region, ALPLA offers a wide range of off-the-shelf bottle solutions, closures as well as special packaging for the food, personal care, home care, chemicals, cleaning and pharmaceutical sectors.
