Regional Overview
ALPLA started its operations in Mexico and Central America in 1991 in the city of Toluca. In 1994 an in-house plant was established in Toluca as well. In the meantime, this region has grown to 32 plants in five countries, including several in-house productions.
Over 2,300 employees produce high-quality packaging solutions made from virgin and recycled resin. The main sectors in this region are food, beauty care and home care. The core technologies include injection stretch blow moulding, PET preform injection and PET blowing, extrusion blow moulding, injection moulding and PP caps and jars.
Following the long-term sustainability objectives, ALPLA together with FEMSA established the IMER recycling plant in 2005. Thus opening the first PET recycling plant in Mexico and Latin America. ALPLA also implemented the Austrian dual education system in Mexico in order to secure high-quality in ALPLA’s packaging solutions. In this program, young people are provided with an excellent education and trained in careers in metals and plastic technology.
